Pulwama November 27 2025: In the backdrop of the recent spike in militant activities and increasing concerns over radicalisation among youth, a police team from Police Subdivision Litter, accompanied by an Executive Magistrate and independent witnesses, on [Day] conducted searches at Faiz-ul-Uloom Darul Uloom located in Udipora Panzgam, officials said.
According to police sources, the search operation was part of the ongoing preventive measures aimed at monitoring vulnerable locations and institutions. The team carried out thorough checking of the premises to rule out any suspected activities.
Officials said the search was conducted in a “cordial and cooperative atmosphere”, with the management of the Darul Uloom extending full support to the authorities. No objectionable or incriminating material was recovered during the exercise.
In a parallel operation, police also searched the residence of Mohammad Rafiq Bhat alias Doctor, son of Habibullah Bhat, resident of Batpora, who has remained affiliated with the Jamaat-e-Islami (JEI) in the past.
Police confirmed that nothing incriminating was seized from the location either.
A senior officer told Greater Kashmir that such searches are part of routine efforts to curb “misguided narratives” and ensure that no institution is exploited for radicalisation or unlawful activities.
“These exercises help maintain transparency, build public confidence, and deter potential misuse of religious or educational platforms,” the officer said.
The official added that intensified vigil will continue in the coming days as part of the overall strategy to prevent any escalation of militant sympathies or recruitment in the region. (Awami Reporter)
