Dental Experts Hail Initiative as Major Step Towards Elevating Clinical Standards in Kashmir

 

Srinagar: 15 June 2026: In a significant boost to advanced dental healthcare and professional education in Kashmir, the Indian Dental Association (IDA), J&K Srinagar Branch, successfully organized a high-profile Continuing Dental Education (CDE) Programme at Hotel Radisson Srinagar, bringing together a galaxy of dental professionals and specialists for an intensive scientific session on “Implant Placement and Precision.”

 

The prestigious academic event featured comprehensive lectures and hands-on clinical workshops aimed at enhancing the skills of dental practitioners and promoting excellence in modern implantology.

 

A key driving force behind the programme was renowned Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon Dr. Altaf Hussain Malik, Immediate Past President of IDA Srinagar Branch, whose continued efforts toward academic advancement and professional development were widely appreciated by participants and experts alike.

 

The workshop provided participants with practical exposure to critical aspects of implantology, including meticulous patient selection, diagnostic planning, advanced implant placement techniques, and evidence-based approaches to managing clinical failures.

 

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Nusrat, President of IDA Srinagar Branch, emphasized the importance of continuous professional education and highlighted the need to equip local practitioners with the latest global knowledge and advanced clinical skills to ensure quality patient care.

 

The scientific sessions were conducted by an eminent panel of experts including:

 

• Dr. Tushar Chawla (BDS, MSc Implantology, Germany, New Delhi)

• Dr. Altaf Hussain Malik (Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon)

• Dr. Ashiq Ali (Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon)

• Dr. Mohammad Arif Lone (Prosthodontist)

 

Participants described the programme as one of the most comprehensive implantology workshops organized in the region in recent years.

 

The event was organized under the leadership of Dr. Nusrat (President), Dr. Khalid Nazir (President-Elect), Dr. Altaf Hussain Malik (Immediate Past President), Dr. Hysum Mushtaq (Convenor CDE) and Dr. Ab Latif Matoo (Branch Secretary).

 

The programme was academically coordinated by Dr. Irshad Ahmad Misger, Professor and Head, Government Dental College Srinagar, whose guidance ensured high academic standards and smooth execution of the scientific proceedings.

 

The seminar commenced with a formal welcome address by Branch Secretary Dr. Ab Latif Matoo, while the academic proceedings and vote of thanks were conducted by Dr. Hysum Mushtaq, Convenor CDE.

 

The event concluded with a grand valedictory session where distinguished speakers, organizers and contributors were felicitated for their outstanding role in promoting scientific learning and advancing dental healthcare in Jammu and Kashmir.

 

Participants particularly appreciated the contribution of Dr. Altaf Hussain Malik, noting that his commitment to academic excellence, professional mentorship and advancement of modern dental practices continues to inspire young dental professionals across the Valley.
