
Srinagar: 21 JaIn a serious development, Dr. Sandeep Mawa, President of the United Peoples Party (UPP) and a prominent Kashmiri Pandit leader, has alleged that he received a threatening phone call from a Pakistan-based number asking him to stop his political campaign against Ghulam Rasool Hami.
According to details accessed by Awami Reporter, the alleged call originated from an international number, raising grave concerns over cross-border intimidation and attempts to silence democratic and political voices in Jammu and Kashmir.
Speaking exclusively to Awami Reporter, Dr. Sandeep Mawa made it clear that he will not bow down to threats or pressure.
“I will continue my campaign. I will not stop. A bullet cannot stop the civilized voices from speaking the truth,” Dr. Mawa said.
He further stated that the matter has already been formally reported to the concerned authorities, and he is now awaiting action.
“I have informed the authorities and I am waiting for decisive action. Such threats will not deter me from standing for truth and public interest,” he added.
The incident has sparked concern among political circles, with calls for a thorough investigation into the source and intent of the threat. The use of alleged cross-border intimidation to influence political discourse is being seen as a serious law-and-order and national security concern.
