Dy Commandant Ghulam Hassan Clinches Top Honour in Zonal Level Firing Competition at CTC Lethpora The Zonal Level Firing Competition concluded on a high note at CTC Lethpora, showcasing exceptional marksmanship, discipline and professional excellence among police officers from across the zone. The event stood out not only for its competitive spirit but also for the outstanding performance of Shri Ghulam Hassan, SP JKPS (Dy Commandant IRP-23rd Battalion), who emerged as the First Position holder in the AK-47 category, earning wide appreciation. The closing ceremony was graced by the Chief Guest, DIG IRP Range Kashmir, Shri Junaid Mahmood, IPS, who felicitated the winners and commended the participants for maintaining high standards of professionalism and operational readiness. Certificates were awarded to winners and outstanding performers, acknowledging their dedication and skill. Among the highlights of the competition, Dy Commandant Ghulam Hassan’s precision, composure and mastery over the AK-47 rifle set him apart, reaffirming his reputation as a highly trained and committed officer. His achievement reflects not only personal excellence but also the rigorous training culture of the IRP and the emphasis placed on operational preparedness. Addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest underlined the critical importance of such firing competitions in sharpening weapon-handling skills, improving accuracy under pressure, and enhancing overall combat readiness of the force. Other notable winners included: 1st Position (Pistol): Sh. Ashiq Hussain Tak, SSP (Dy Commandant IRP-6th Battalion) 1st Position (INSAS Rifle): Sgct. Farooq Ahmad, IRP-23rd Battalion 1st Position (JVPC): HC Surinder Singh, JKAP-14th Battalion Overall 1st Position: Sgct. Farooq Ahmad No. 227/IRP-23rd Battalion The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from officers across various police units, reflecting their commitment to continuous training, precision and excellence in duty. The ceremony concluded with a formal vote of thanks, reaffirming the resolve of the department to continue organizing such professional competitions in the future. The stellar performance of officers like Dy Commandant Ghulam Hassan stands as a testament to the high standards and discipline upheld by the Jammu and Kashmir Police.
