Baramulla Admin Issues Advisory Amid Forecast of Intense Rainfall, Gusty Winds

*Residents in Low-Lying, Flood-Prone Areas Urged to Stay Vigilant and Avoid Risky Zones*

Baramulla, July 14 (JKNS): In view of the intense rainfall, gusty winds, and potential thunderstorms or cloudbursts forecast by the Meteorological Department, the Baramulla district administration has issued an advisory urging residents, especially those in flood-prone and low-lying areas, to remain cautious and follow safety measures.

In an advisory issued by Additional District Magistrate Baramulla a copy of which lies with news agency JKNS reads, In view of the weather forecast issued by the Meteorological Department, J&K, from time to time with regard to intense rainfall, accompanied by gusty winds and occurrence of thunder storm/ cloud burst in various districts of the Kashmir Valley, including Baramulla district.

All residents, especially those residing near Nallahs, in low-lying, hilly, and flood-prone areas, are advised to take necessary precautions. The following safety measures are recommended, People must refrain from venturing near Nallahs, flood prone/ flooded areas. People must keep emergency supplies handy and stay tuned to local weather updates, it reads.

Advisory reads that, People must remain vigilant and prioritize safety above all else. People must avoid unnecessary travel, especially in areas prone to flooding and if the travel is must, they must ensure that they have appropriate rain gear and must drive carefully.

People residing in a flood-prone areas, known for water logging, may look for safe location, in consultation with local authorities. General public is advised not to venture close to landslide-prone zones or fast-flowing streams, it reads.
